In this article, I analyze how the effect of producing a scientific data in real time, called “emergent”, on gender violence in the world within the context of the Covid-19 crisis has been constructed, as well as the very construction of the framework that made it possible on the political and scientific levels. To do this, I make an inquiry about the uses of journalistic publications as sources of scientific and political-technical publications, and I examine how this transformation operates in the publications produced during the first half of 2020. I also do a temporal monitoring of documents from UN Women, which during the first semester has produced systematic reports reporting the status of gender violence and generated guidelines for the investigation.
