Authors

Abstract

This article explores the relationships between design and anthropology from a critical and analytical perspective. Through a comparative analysis, it investigates the connections between social sciences paradigms and various dimensions of design, contrasting epistemological and methodological approaches that converge in the concept of Design Anthropology. From the evolution of Human-Centered Design, the article examines the contributions of Design Anthropology, which challenge the traditional paradigm centered on the designer's authorship, towards a decentralized conception of the discipline, recognizing the importance of the active participation of other actors in the process. This to project new forms of empathic and collaborative understanding, fostering a harmonious coexistence between humans and intelligent systems, as well as establishing more ethical relationships between humans and other forms of future life. This hybrid approach integrates critical methodologies and speculative approaches, projecting the transformative potential of Design Anthropology to shape futures centered on social change, advocating for an inclusive, participatory, and other-centered interdisciplinary practice.
