Abstract

Within what is considered flat ontologies, Object-Oriented Ontology stands out due to its form and structure as a way of understanding the world that closely resembles how Design thinks about and analyzes the world. This article focuses on one of its most relevant concepts, Timothy Morton’s Hyperobjects, using it as a metaphor to review and contrast how project-based professions engage in reflection. Through a literature review, analysis of key criteria, and a final discussion, the article proposes how this philosophical framework can be utilized as a tool in the initial stages of a Design project.
