The aging of the world’s population is one of the most significant social transformations of the 21st century, with implications for all sectors of society, especially in urban centers. This article discusses the relationship between urban furniture and aging, as well as its interaction with the behavior and daily actions of the elderly. To carry out this study, a theoretical and bibliographic review of aging and urban furniture was conducted to identify relevant aspects that influence the design process. It is important to consider that the design of contemporary public spaces must respond to the needs of this population, as urban furniture is an element that enables socialization and leisure, and additionally contributes to creating spaces of well-being in cities.
